David Knopf provides clinical social worker services for the Adolescent and Young Adult Clinic and in-patient adolescents in Children’s Hospital, UCSF. He does clinical supervision with social work interns and other pediatric social work staff. Other medical center activities include social work for the Pediatric Endocrine Service, the Disorders of Sex Differentiation Clinic, and the Transition Interest Group.
He serves on the steering committee for the San Francisco Adolescent Health Working Group, and has consulted with several community agencies.
As part of the National Adolescent Health Information Center (NAHIC) he has published reviews on adolescent mental health status, on data availability for adolescent populations, and a planning guide for managed care organizations. He is currently working on a review of state health reforms related to adolescents and young adults.
