Fellows' College

Each year, the Department of Pediatrics, through its Committee on Professional Development, sponsors three meetings for all Pediatric Subspecialty Fellows.  The purposes of these meetings are to orient the Fellows to UCSF, assist in transition to Fellowship, and prepare the Fellows for future careers in academic medicine.

Salary and Benefits

Health insurance is provided for Fellows and their dependents.  Salary increases with the level of training of the Fellow.  Current stipends are $45,300 for the first year, $48,300 for the second year and $49,900 for the third year.  In addition, each Fellow receives a $500/month housing allowance, an annual stipend for books, and travel funds to attend one national research conference per year.

Note that these rates will likely be increased by 2009; updated information will be available in due course. Further information about the policies applicable to Fellows and Residents at UCSF can be found in the House Staff Information Booklet.

Vacation

Each Fellow receives four weeks of vacation per year.
