Clinical Programs

A team of highly skilled compassionate physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers and adjunct staff assist in the coordinated care of children with cancer and their families.

The pediatric hematology/oncology team is a major leader in multiple clinical trial groups, including the Childrens Oncology Group (COG), New Approaches to Neuroblastoma Treatment (NANT) and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium, which are all making major advances in improving the survival of children with cancer.

Our NIH-funded Sickle Cell Center provides treatment and research for children with sickle cell anemia. The Thalassemia Research Network offers comprehensive care for children with thalassemia, including transfusion, iron chelation, and stem cell transplantation. The North Coast Regional Hemophilia program cares for children with bleeding disorders and participates in research to develop improved treatments for hemophilia and its complications.

We are also closely affiliated with the UCSF Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant team, providing all types of transplants, including related, matched and partially matched unrelated, cord blood, and T-cell depleted.

To refer a patient or make an appointment for any of these programs call 415-476-3831.
