![]() Sarah Tabbutt, MD, PhD Associate Professor of Pediatrics Director, Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Dr. Tabbutt received her PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of California Berkeley followed by her medical degree from the University of California San Diego. She completed her pediatric residency training at the University of California San Diego. She did her fellowship training in both Cardiology and Critical Care Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Upon completion of her fellowships in 1998, Dr. Tabbutt joined the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania in both the Departments of Pediatrics (Cardiology) and Anesthesia/Critical Care. In 2002 she became the Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In 2008, she joined the faculty at UCSF. Dr Tabbutt’s research interest focus on clinical trials and outcome measures for neonates with congenital heart disease, with a special focus on those with hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
