![]() Anil Sapru, MD Assistant Adjunct Professor of Pediatrics Dr. Sapru earned his medical doctorate from Government Medical College, Srinigar, in India. He subsequently trained at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, and worked as a pediatric intensivist at The Royal Hospital in Oman. After coming to the U.S., Dr. Sapru completed a pediatric residency at New York Medical College, Valhalla, and completed pediatric critical care fellowship at SUNY Buffalo and the joint UCSF-Children’s Hospital of Oakland program. He also obtained a master’s degree in advanced studies in clinical research from UCSF. Dr. Sapru joined the faculty at UCSF in July 2004, following the completion of his fellowship and master’s degree. He has published research work related to various aspects of pediatric critical care; however, his primary research focus is on genetic influences on development and outcome of acute lung injury. He conducts his research in collaboration with Dr. Michael Matthay, Professor of Medicine and Anesthesia at UCSF.
