Peter Oishi , MD

Dr. Oishi received his medical degree at Albany Medical College. He completed residency in pediatrics at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. After completing fellowship in critical care at the UCSF-Children's Oakland joint program, Dr. Oishi joined the faculty at UCSF. Dr. Oishi is currently a junior investigator, working under the mentorship of Dr. Jeffrey Fineman. His research program is broadly focused on understanding the mechanisms that link the development of pulmonary vascular disease to various common congenital cardiac defects. In particular, Dr. Oishi is studying a novel role for PPAR gamma and reactive oxygen species in this process.
