

Sanjeev Datar, MD, PhD
After completing his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University, Dr. Datar entered the Medical Scientist Training Program, earning his medical degree at the University of Washington in Seattle and a doctorate in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He completed residency in pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco and subsequently completed fellowship training in pediatric critical care in the joint program at UCSF and the Children¹s Hospital and Research Center Oakland. Dr. Datar is a member of the clinical faculty at UCSF and is a junior investigator under the mentorship of Drs. Jeffrey Fineman and Michael Matthay. His general research interests currently focus on the study of lymphatic vascular biology. Using animal models of congenital heart disease, he is particularly interested in better understanding mechanisms that regulate lung fluid balance.
