 Fellowship, Education & Training
The fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at UCSF is a 3-5 year program that combines clinical and research training, with the ultimate goal of producing well-rounded, academically-oriented pediatric cardiologists. The program is divided into clinical and research components, and within each there are specific goals and requirements to be fulfilled. Training in both will occur throughout each of the first 3 years of training, although the first year of the fellowship often is directed more toward acquisition of clinical knowledge and skills, and the third year (and beyond) toward completion of research training. A basic tenet of this program is that, within the overall requirements of fellowship, an individual program is designed to meet the unique needs and interests of each fellow.
