Job Related Benefits STIPENDS Annual (as of July 1, 2008)
Moving Stipend: All incoming Pediatric PL-1's will receive a moving expense reimbursement shortly after starting the program. This reimbursement will be $2,400, and each resident will receive this supplement as a lump sum by September 1st. Housing Allowance: As of July 1, 2009, all residents while on the UCSF payroll receive a taxable $620.00 per month housing stipend. Both the moving stipend and the housing allowance significantly and favorably impact the effect of housing costs in the Bay Area. Health: Choice between two full coverage health insurance plans; an HMO or a PPO third party coverage plan. In addition to the standard medical benefits, each policy provides dental, vision and prescription coverage for the entire family. Premium cost for either health insurance plan is covered by the Department of Pediatrics. Long Term Disability: Provided through Reliance Standard group plan; paid for by the School of Medicine and the Medical Center. Life: Provided for each trainee at $50,000. Premium cost covered by the Department of Pediatrics. Professional Liability: Full coverage provided by the University
at all University sites for training program activities. UNIFORMS AND PAGERS Long range two-way text/numeric pagers and white coats are provided. MEALS Subsidized meals for on-call residents are provided. At the UCSF Children's Hospital site, this is in the form of a scannable debit card, honored at all campus food vendors located in the hospitals and the Milberry Union Fitness Center. At SFGH, meals are provided free. VACATION / EDUCATIONAL LEAVE Total paid vacation and/or educational leave: 4 weeks per year MISCELLANEOUS
